The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London is a professional body for those engaged in all aspects of the shipping business. It was founded in 1911. In 1920, it was realized that attaining real professionalism required education and discipline. The institute set standard which were able to satisfy His majesty's privy council and a royal charter was granted. It conducts examination almost all over the world in a month of April every year. The candidates who qualify in the examination, are awarded with the Foundation Diploma in Shipping. This diploma is recognised / valid through out the world for job purposes in Shipping / Maritime companies.

ABOUT COURSE:
Foundation Diploma  in Shipping (FDS) is designed for those, interested to go in the field of Shipping / Maritime business. This diploma will be credited toward the MICS qualifying examinations. This constitutes the following subjects.

 1.Introduction to Shipping
 2.Anyone of the following specialist subjects:   Dry Cargo Chartering, Ship sale and purchase,     Tanker Chartering, Liner Trades, Port Agency.

FEE STRUCTURE FOR ICS (LONDON)
Registration Fee of ICS (London): UK Pounds 35
Last date for Registration for April Examinations: 30th November, current year.
Examination Fee of ICS (London): UK Pounds 45
Last Date for Examination Fee for April Next Year: 21st January, next year.

FEE STRUCTURE FOR NITE
Registration Fee: Rs.1000/- (To be paid at the time of admission)
Training Fee: Rs.25,000/-

Mode of Payment:
Training Fee: either full in lumpsum or pay Rs.15000/- at the time of admission and balance in 2 equal installments of Rs.5200/- to be paid within two months after the commencement of the course.

Deck Cadet

Eligibility: 10+2 (with 60%(PCM) or above marks and pass in English)
Max. Age: 20 years or B.Sc (Non Medical) Max Age: 22 years or BE / B.Tech Max. Age : 24 years.
Duration of Course: 12 months

Trainee Marine Engineer

Eligibility: BE/B.Tech (Mech. Engg./Naval Archi.) with 50% marks.
Duration: one year Max. Age: 24 years or Diploma in Mechanical / Ship Building / Marine / Electrical Engineering with 50% marks Duration of Course: 2 years. Max. Age : 22 years.

General Purpose Training (Sea Man)

Eligibility: 10th (with pass in Science, Maths & English)
Age: 17.5 to 21 years Duration: 6 months
Note: Eye Sight: 6/6 with no color blindness and medically fit for all courses.

AT NITE: Basic Training: All the candidates interested to join any course mentioned above will be given basic training of duration 15-30 days of 2-3 hours daily here in the premises of NITE and the other part of the training will be held in the institutes approved by DG Shipping, Ministry of Transport, Government of India in various coastal cities of India with whom the NITE has tie-up.

Admission in Approved Institute: Only those candidates trained by NITE under the supervision of experienced and trained faculty will be admitted in the approved institutes for their respective pre Sea training courses. Admission will be done within the 3 months after the completion of basic training at NITE.

FEE STRUCTURE:
NITE Fee: Registration Fee: Rs.1000/- to be paid before or at the time of admission.
For one month basic training: Rs 15,000/- to be paid at the time of admission

Approved Institute Fee: Rs 1.90 Lacs (Depends from institute to institute)
Trainnee Marine Engineer: Rs 1 Lac to 1.25 lacs per annum
General Purpose Training (Sea Man): Rs. 1 Lac to 1.25 Lacs.
